He is survived by: his wife Ruby Ratliff Hale of Oakwood, VA; his children, Linda Matney (Keith) of Claypool Hill, VA, Brenda Weddle of Narrows, VA, Debi Malcolm (Harold) of Salem, VA, JoAnn Wolford (Teddy) of Troutville, VA, Pam Hinkle (Monroe) of Oakwood, VA, Ginger Dionne (Pierre) of Roanoke, VA, Bill Hale (Kathy) of Honaker, VA, Carl "Skip" Hale (Karen) of Richlands, VA and Todd Ratliff (Jeanie) of Christiansburg, VA; his brothers, Elmer Hale (Gaynel) of Richlands, VA and Don Hale (Evelyn) of Cedar Bluff, VA.; and his nephew Chris Hale. He is also survived by nineteen grandchildren, several great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
