He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph McNeil Boyd and Edna Meadows Boyd; and his siblings, Brenda, Myrtle, Margie, Effie, Jerry, Daniel and Clyde.
He is survived by: his children, Kristy Diane Bennett (David) of Johnson City, TN and Jeffrey Carnell Boyd of Vansant, VA; his sisters, Ruby Harris (Orman) of Oakwood, VA, Sadie Keen (Cleve) of Oakwood, VA and Loula Jean Boyd of Patterson, VA; his half-sister Edith Beck of Baltimore, MD; his brother Hassell Boyd of Baltimore, MD.; and his grandchildren, Copeland Bennett, Laykin Bennett and Jacob Boyd. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at the Shortridge-Ramey Funeral Home Chapel of Keen Mountain, VA, Sunday, March 21st after 6:00 p. m. with evening service to be held at 7:00 p. m. In observance of COVID-19 restrictions, social distancing will be observed, and the wearing of masks is required for attendance.
