He was predeceased by: his father James Witcher Turner; and his brother Dudley Turner. He is survived by: his wife Evelyn Havens Turner; his children, James Glenn Turner (Stacey) of Marco Island, FL and Heather Turner Turton (Michael) of Atlanta, GA; his grandchildren, Allison Turner, Grant Turner (Paige), William Turton and Emma Turton; his brother Michael Turner (Stacey); his caregiver Cindy Aaron RN; and his friends, Jim and Evelyn.

Despite his impressive education and intellect, he would never reveal that or in any way seek to impress anyone. His humility and concern for others shone through. You could guess that his Christian faith was the source of his great character. My condolences to the Turner family & friends, in the loss of a truly wonderful man.”
