It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Robert Gale Beckwith Jr. of Oak Hall, Virginia, born in Vicksburg, Michigan, who passed away on July 20, 2022, at the age of 73, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Gale Beckwith, Sr. and Evelyn Elaine Gilliland Beckwith. He is survived by: his wife Claire Morfit Hunkins; his children, Amelia-Scout Beckwith (Hunter) of Horntown, VA and Brian Beckwith (Alex) of Lakewood, CO; his grandmother Kelley Thomasson (Steve) of Sterling, VA; his niece Kelly Mitchell (Eric) of Ocean City, MD; and his stepchildren, Christina Velasquez of Flint, MI, Petra Velasquez of Fort Wayne, IN, Jessica Velasquez of Canton, OH, Eric Velasquez (Alex) of El Paso, TX and Larry Velasquez (Wanda) of Phoenix, AZ. He is also survived by numerous step-grandchildren and step great-grandchildren.
After Covid, Bob served as a "greeter" at the Virginia Tourism Welcome Center in New Church, VA and continued to volunteer at the Refuge.
