It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Virginia Faye Sams Elliott of Norton, Virginia, born in Dickenson County, Virginia, who passed away on November 9, 2024, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Atlas Stanley Green and Lee Green; her former husband Paul Sams; her husband Walter Sam Elliott; her sister Ann Heaberlin; her stepsons, Greg and Rusty Elliott; and her great grandchild Caleb Kiser.
She is survived by: her children, Jeff Sams (Cathy) and Amanda Kilgore (James); her stepchildren, Julie Elliott Short and Don Elliott (Kathy); her sister Ruby Wampler; and her grandchildren, Jennifer Sams Kiser (Scott), Jamie Kilgore (Brooke), Abigail Kiser, Chase Kiser, Jett Kilgore and Penn Kilgore.
Visitation was held on Monday, November 11th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Sturgill Funeral Home (1621 Norton Rd SW, Wise, VA 24293). A funeral service was held on Monday, November 11th 2024 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A procession was held on Tuesday, November 12th 2024 at 10:15 AM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Tuesday, November 12th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Powell Valley Memorial Gardens (5650 Powell Valley Rd, Big Stone Gap, VA 24219).
