He was predeceased by: his father Bobby Deel; and his brothers, Eddie Paul and Gary Deel. He is survived by: his wife Fern Deel of Clintwood; his mother Nora Mabel Deel of Lick Creek; his children, Jeremy Deel and Karleen Deel of Clintwood; his brothers, Stacy Deel, Kim of Jonesboro, Rick Deel of Clintwood and Joe Deel of Lick Creek; and his grandchildren, Ryley Blair, Kinley Hamilton of Clintwood, Chloe Deel and Levi Deel. He is also survived by other relatives and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to the Southwest Virginia Cancer Center, Norton, Virginia.
