She was predeceased by: her parents, Frank Nunley and Martha Nunley; and her siblings, Earl Nunley, William Nunley, Hazel Estep, Mary Jane Beverly and Betty Wells.

She is survived by: her husband James Funk of Coeburn, VA; and her sisters, Linda Mays of Blountville, TN and Christie Frye of Abingdon, VA. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

“May God bless Peggy Nunley 's family during this time. My friendship with Peggy began early in our elementary school grade years in Norton, VA. Peggy and I became best friends & neighbors. We attended Ramsey Freewill Baptist Church where we accepted Christ, then were baptized together at Clear Creek in Aug. 1965 when we each were only twelve years old. I still have a picture of the two of us taken during our baptism together along with wonderful memories. Sharon (Terry) Craft Concord, NC”
