It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Nesbith Barnette Sturgill of Norton, Virginia, who passed away on October 31, 2020, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, James Roy Barnette and Viola Thompson Barnette; her husband Avery W. Wood; her daughters, Gwendolyn Wood and Deborah Barnette; her siblings, Ronald Barnette, Paul Barnette, Irene Caudill and Inez Bouton; and her grandson Avery William Wood (Billy).
She is survived by: her son Benny Wood (Mary) of Maryland; her siblings, Donald Barnette (Jo) of Norton and Deborah Bascomb of Florida; and her son-in-law Brian Barnette. She is also survived by thirteen grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; several great great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
