With heavy hearts, we announce the death of May Harman Bartlett Straughan (Norton, Virginia), who passed away on December 6, 2019. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Arthur James Bartlett, Sr. and Dovie Belle Bartlett; her husband Joseph Marion Straughan, MD; her brother Arthur James Bartlett, Jr.; and her nephew John Daniel Bartlett.
She is survived by: her children, Thomas Arthur, Anne Bartlett (Stephen) of Denver, CO, Frances Sturdavant (Dennis) of Wise and Tommy Straughan (Pam) of Cherokee, NC; and her grandchildren, Joseph Sturdavant (Stephanie), Elizabeth Taylor (Jerry), Rachel Cadden, Steven Straughan, Straughan Cadden and Holden Straughan. She is also survived by 3 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, and beloved friends.
