He was predeceased by: his parents, Mack Sturgill and Rosa Marks Sturgill; and his siblings, Dewey Sturgill, Willie Sturgill, Roy Sturgill, Ralph Sturgill, Rev. Glenn Sturgill, Kenneth Sturgill, Junior Sturgill, Charles Sturgill, Percy Sturgill, Theoma Sturgill, Pearl Messer and Ruby Williams.
He is survived by: his wife Betty Lou Gardner Sturgill; his children, Anita Pannell of Sharps Chapel, Reita Clogston (John) of Norton and Lynn Sturgill (Stacey) of Wise; his grandchildren, Heather Ring (Chris) of Coeburn, Rebecca Pannell of Sharps Chapel, Austin Sargent of Norton, Tabitha Sturgill (Tim) of Woodstock, Nick Sturgill (Kacie) of Castlewood and Colyn Sturgill of Wise; his great grandchildren, Devin Sargent, Anthony Wiles, Zachary Wiles, Chase Sturgill, Cameron Sturgill, Mark Andrew Sargent, Presley Sturgill, Lily Sargent and Koe Sturgill; his great great grandchildren, Anderson Wiles, Kopelyn Wiles and Zeke Sargent; his brothers, John Paul Sturgill (June) of Norton and Kilmer Sturgill (Gilda) of Duffield; and his close friend David Pannell. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
