He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Sexton and Trula Sexton; his father-in-law Shirl Haynes; and his great-niece Jessica Shifflett. He is survived by: his wife Vanessa Sexton; his daughter Autumn Sexton Boggs; his son-in-law Scott Boggs; his grandchildren, Sydney, Brant, Griffin and Tate Boggs of Abingdon, VA; his brother Ronald Sexton; his sister-in-law Sue Sexton; his niece Sandy Ashbaugh (Roy); his great-nieces and great-nephews, Kayla Shifflett, Olivia Ashbaugh, Sarah Ashbaugh, Matthew Ashbaugh of Richmond, VA and Stephan Miller of Richmond, VA; his siblings-in-law, Debi Klemm and Ron Klemm of St. Petersburg, FL; his nephews, Tyler Morris and Sean Klemm; his mother-in-law Jean Haynes of Norton; and his cousins, Diana Synowiec (Ed) and Trish Handley (Richard) of South Carolina. He is also survived by family members and friends, who were steadfast caregivers.
Visitation was held on Sunday, December 29th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Monday, December 30th 2024 at 11:30 AM at the Hagy & Fawbush Funeral Home (956 Park Ave NW, Norton, VA 24273-1821). A funeral service was held on Sunday, December 29th 2024 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Monday, December 30th 2024 at 12:00 PM at the Laurel Grove Cemetery (4805 Kentucky Ave SE, Norton, VA 24273).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to causes dear to Frank's heart: St. Jude's Children's Hospital, Cornerstone Christian Academy in Abingdon, VA, or the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
