He was predeceased by: his parent T. M.; his brothers, Don McAfee and Kenneth McAfee; his nephew John McAfee; and his parents-in-law, N. B. and Joann Lambert.

He is survived by: his wife Julia; and his children, Jane Sandt (Gordon), Nancy McInerney (Tim), Ronald Elkins (Kathy) and Tim McAfee. He is also survived by several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Norton Presbyterian Church, 1230 Church St NW, Norton, VA 24273.
