She was predeceased by: her parents, Samuel R. Spencer and Ann Maria Spencer; her husband Royal; and her brothers, Clarence, William and Lloyd Spencer.
She is survived by: her brother Robert Nathaniel Spencer (Bob) of North Dinwiddie; her nieces and nephews, Deidre Hammond (Eric) of Colorado Springs, CO, Kimberly Spencer of Camarillo, CA, Line Donnelly (Steve) of Camarillo, CA, Stacey Willoughby (Aaron) of Bronx, NY, Terrence Spencer of California and William T. Spencer II; her great-nieces and great-nephews, Cacique Spencer, Atiya Willoughby of Bronx, NY, Delphine Donnelly of Camarillo, CA, Ramsey Donnelly of Camarillo, CA, Joseph Spencer of Virginia Beach, VA, Michael Rey Spencer of Virginia Beach, VA, Jehynic Spencer and Sekou Willoughby of Bronx, NY; her sisters-in-law, Dyanne Spencer of Virginia Beach, VA and Fran Spencer of Harford, CT; and her aunt Jean Sturdifen of Patterson, NJ.
Her contributions to society included: serving on the Dinwiddie County Planning Commission for ten years and as the first women to serve as Chairman of the Commission, a position she held for six years; serving on the Youth Commission for Dinwiddie County and as Juror Commissioner for Dinwiddie County.
