He was predeceased by: his parents, Hannah J. Eley and Linwood Smith, Sr. of Franklin, Virginia.; his uncle Charles Bogerty; and his brother Linwood Smith, Jr.. He is survived by: his wife Phyllis L. Eley; his daughters, Julia R. Williams (Craig) and Janice M. Eley; his aunt Julia Bogerty of Philadelphia, PA.; his cousin Sylvia Smith of Virginia; and his goddaughters, Kimberly Harris, Rascia Lilliston, Jasmin Jacobs and Lateaia Price. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
