He was predeceased by: his parents, Frazier Nicewander and Virgie Nicewander; his children, Jerry Edward Nicewander, Jr. and Carolyn Christine Nicewander; and his siblings, Merle Morgan, Virginia Colley, Margaret Boyd, Caroline Nicewander, Gaynelle Stilwell, Jesse, Holland "Shot", Jack, Joe and Kenneth Nicewander.
He is survived by: his wife Nancy Lou Nicewander; his children, Howard Nicewander (Tammy) of Monroe, Michael Nicewander (Christine) of Crestview, FL and Sandra Nicewander of Cedar Bluff, VA; his daughter-in-law Jannie Ann Nicewander; his sisters, Peggy Harris of Suffolk, VA, Norma Shortt of Doran, VA and Teresa Neely (Charlie) of Huntington, WV; and his grandchildren, Keshia Carrol, Elaina Billings, Sydney Cantrell and Autumn Nicewander.
Visitation was held on Friday, January 3rd 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Home (1401 2nd St, Richlands, VA 24641). A funeral service was held on Friday, January 3rd 2025 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Saturday, January 4th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Greenhills Memory Gardens (11800 Gov G C Peery Hwy, Cedar Bluff, VA 24609).
