He was predeceased by: his parents, Pridemore Adkins and Betty Ann Crockett Adkins; his brother Johnny Adkins; and his sister-in-law Ruby. He is survived by: his wife Irene Adkins of Baptist Valley, VA; his daughters, Kristy Adkins Maggard (Joshua) of Baptist Valley, VA and Stacey Adkins Johnson (Charles) of Baptist Valley, VA; his sister Nancy Sue Horne (George) of Tazewell, VA; and his nephew Johnny Adkins, Jr. of North Tazewell, VA..
