She was predeceased by: her parents, Thurman Hackworth and Ruby L. Caudill Hackworth; her former husband James Benny Shephard; her husband Charles David Adkins; and her siblings, Helen Brown, Nell Street, James, Robert, Ronnie, Junior and Bud Hackworth.
She is survived by: her children, Benita Farrar of Princeton, WV, Jeff Shephard of Tazewell and Bill Shephard (Denise) of Tazewell, Virginia; her grandchildren, Jason Shephard, Josh Shephard, Sarah Shephard, Leah Lawson and Emily Lawson; and her great grandchildren, Aubree Nicole Williams, Kaiden Birdsall and Colby Shephard.
A graveside service was held on Thursday, January 23rd 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Greenhills Memory Gardens (11800 Gov G C Peery Hwy, Cedar Bluff, VA 24609).
