He was predeceased by: his father Robert "Bobby" Thomas; and his grandparents, William, Ruby Morris, Albert and Elsie Thomas.

He is survived by: his mother Virginia M. Thomas of North Garden; his brother Mark A. Thomas (Denise) of Greene; his niece Rhonda Baber (David) of Ivy; his nephew Trevis Thomas (Michelle) of Greene; his great-nephews, Caleb, Wyatt and Theodore; his great-niece Reagan; and his cousins, Wanda Clements (Jeff) and Glen Mills.
