She was predeceased by: her parents, Jerry Dowell and Annie Henderson Dowell; her siblings, Mary Geraldine Whindleton, Louise Dowell Miller, Emily Bernice Kirby, Early Dowell, Simon Dowell and Hunter Dowell; her son Rodney Kirby Sr.; and her nieces and nephews, Bernard F. Dowell, Marvin Miller, Gloria Dowell, Linda Eddy and Carolyn Miller.
She is survived by: her son Ivar Dowell (Helen); her nieces and nephews, Vivian Dowell Craddock, Towanda Kirby, Dorothy, Rodney Kirby Jr., Chester and Meredith "Butch" Whindleton (Jean); her sister-in-law Gladys Dowell; her nephews, Johnny, David and Gordon; and her niece Martha.
A Graveside service will be held at 11:00 a. m. on Friday, May 22, 2020, at First Baptist Church Covesville, due to the pandemic.
The family asks in lieu of flowers, that family and friends make contributions to the Burley Varsity Club on her behalf.
