He was predeceased by: his parents, Hattie Meredith Strickland and W. Cabell Strickland; his wife Benice "Bennie" Strickland; and his siblings, Horace Strickland, Melvin Strickland, Harry Strickland, Gladys Sisk, Edith Combs, Juanita Strickland, Emma Snow and Carrie Mae Sowers.
He is survived by: his daughters, Sue Richardson (Stuart) of Gretna, VA, Mary Strickland, Kim Kronsbein (John) of Marion, IL and Brenda Rosecrans (Alex) of Virginia Beach, VA.; and his grandchildren, Brandon Richardson, India Richardson, Patrick Richardson (Jamie), Nathan Forbes, Jessica Forbes, Ben Forbes, Andy Kronsbein (Amanda), Kari Kronsbein (Clay Hunt), Austin Rosecrans (Kelsey), Taylor Rosecrans (Erin) and Brad Rosecrans (Jessica). He is also survived by 12 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 12th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel (1035 N Main St, Hillsville, VA 24343). A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 12th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
