He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard Lawrence "Dick" Mayo, Sr. of Norfolk and Vivian Ruth Whitehurst Robertson of Norfolk. He is survived by: his wife Susan Doris Allsbrook Mayo of Norfolk; his son Dr. Richard Lawrence "Trey" Mayo, III of Williamsburg; and his aunt Joyce Dowling of Virginia Beach.
A graveside service was held on Tuesday, February 18th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Forest Lawn Cemetery (8100 Granby St, Norfolk, VA 23505).
