In the echoes of fond remembrance, may a sense of peace be found, knowing that the memories held dear will continue to shape and inspire his loved ones, keeping Overseer Roosevelt's spirit alive in the hearts and actions of family and friends alike. While his presence may be gone, his impact lives on in the kindness shown to others and the joy found in the ordinary moments of life.

He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Roosevelt Porter Sr. and Alice Dickens; his daughter Edna Sherrill; his parent-in-law Rue Ellen Rudd; and also, Tyronna Smith, Roosevelt Porter III (Julie), Alison Brunner, Reginald Porter (Gale), Joy Porter-Blount, Crystal Williams and Benjamin Porter (India). He was also cherished by twenty-four grandchildren, thirty-three great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Viewing was held on Tuesday, November 19th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Metropolitan Funeral Service (120 W Berkley Ave, Norfolk, VA 23523). A celebration of life was held on Wednesday, November 20th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
