As we bid adieu to Mildred's earthly form, let us not dwell on the void left in her wake, but rather celebrate the legacy of love and inspiration Mildred has bequeathed us. For though she may have departed from our sight, her spirit remains a timeless beacon, guiding loved ones through the labyrinth of life's journey.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Emma Elizabeth Terrell and James Lonnie Terrell; and her son Robert Lee "Tank" Thompson, Jr.. She is survived by: her daughters, Naomi Bowe and Michelle Nelson (Elvis); and her daughter-in-law Veronica Thompson. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, 8 great-great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Viewing was held on Monday, November 18th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Metropolitan Funeral Service (7246 Granby St, Norfolk, VA 23505). A celebration of life was held on Tuesday, November 19th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church (934 W Little Creek Rd, Norfolk, VA 23505).
