She was predeceased by: her mother Kate Lee Jones; her husband Wilson T. Akers; her daughters, Paula Kay Richardson and Christine Akers; and her siblings, Lena Goggins and Wayne Jones.
She is survived by: her children, Mary Hinton (Michael) of Clarksville, Ellawese Leftwich (Roy) of Danville, Carolyn Reynolds (Thomas), Deloris Jean Akers of Murfreesboro, Lawrence Akers of Portsmouth, Larry Akers of Moyock, Terry Akers (Darlene) of Danville and Dexter Lee Akers (Kiauntee) of Tampa, Florida.; and her sister Viola Davis. She is also survived by 26 grandchildren a host of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren as well as nieces, nephews, and friends.
