Though Efthymios John may no longer walk beside us, his memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Efthymios John touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In his absence, his spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.

He was predeceased by: his parents, John (Golfo Dermanis) and Parnasidos; and his brothers, Pantelis and Asimakis Dermanis (Toula Dermanis). He is survived by: his siblings, Panagiota Dermanis of Athens, Greece and Lakis Dermanis (Kristina); his children, John E. Dermanis and Alexandra Dermanis; and his grandchildren, Elias and Athena Nassar.

A funeral service was held on Monday, January 6th 2025 at 6:00 PM and on Tuesday, January 7th 2025 at 12:00 PM. A burial was held on Tuesday, January 7th 2025 at the Forest Lawn Cemetery (8100 Granby St, Norfolk, VA 23505).
