It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Charles Eugene Johnson III (Nokesville, Virginia), who passed away on September 26, 2021, at the age of 72, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Dorothy Ijams Johnson and Charles Eugene Johnson II; and his brother Edward "Ned" Johnson. He is survived by: his children, Alex Johnson (Amanda) and Libbi Moore (Patrick); and his grandchildren, Calvin, Ellie, Amelia, Paisley, Laila and Evelyn.

“I was the bass player for Tractor, the D.C. area band Gene sang with for several years, and I can attest to his talent as a singer/performer. He lived with us at the Double J, our 'band farm' in Delaplane, where we shared good times in those tumultuous years of the early 70's. We remaining Tractor members share fond memories of playing at clubs, My Mother's Place, The Keg, and other gigs there, before going West to SoCali. Gene's recorded legacy can be found online, well worth discovering.”
