He was predeceased by: his parents, Leta Mildred Thacker and Carson Hylemon; his brother Carson Scheryl Hylemon; and his aunt Jimmie Ruth Adams. He is survived by: his wife Jan Hylemon; his children, Heath Hylemon and Holly Harris (Allen); his grandchildren, Lindsay Hylemon (Matt Fullen), Meagan Atkins (Parker Golden), Taylor Hylemon (Elizabeth) of Hickory, NC and Chelsea Hylemon; and his great grandchildren, Colton Hylemon, Zoey Golden and Gavin Lee.

In lieu of flowers the family would request donations be made to Nickelsville Community Meals of Love, Inc. 646 Little Duck Road, Nickelsville, VA 24271.
