He was predeceased by: his parents, James Sluss and Mary Kate Sluss (Finch); his brother Jimmy Darrell Sluss; and his half-siblings, Warren Sluss, D. F. Sluss and Nettie Lane.
He is survived by: his daughters, Melissa Kate Gibson (Corey) and Loretta Ann Sluss; his grandchildren, Nevaeh Gibson, Sabrina Gibson and Chloe Gibson; and his brother Johnny Sluss (Phyllis). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
