It is with great sadness that we announce the death of John Compton of Nickelsville, Virginia, who passed away on March 13, 2021, at the age of 75, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, John LeRoy and Virginia Lee Kilgore Compton; his siblings, Janice Robinson, Joyce Hale and Vernon Compton; his aunt Mattye; his uncle Everette Moore; and his stepfather Dale Dockery.
He is survived by: his sibling Springs Basketball; his wife Lou Compton; his sons, Gary Compton (Michael Smith), Barry Compton and Meldie Graham; his granddaughters, Anna Compton and Mattie Compton; his sisters, Florence Stallard, Clarice Meade (Kenneth), Delores Ford and Linda Gillenwater; his siblings-in-law, Shirley Compton and Howard Keith (Louise); and his friend Henry Powers. He is also survived by several nieces & nephews.
