With heavy hearts, we announce the death of George L Thorpe Sr. (Newsoms, Virginia), who passed away on October 22, 2019 at the age of 81. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, John Blount Thorpe and Rebecca Rudy Thorpe; his children, Holly Candice Thorpe (Husein) of Arizona, Barry Kent Thorpe of Newsoms, George Lee Thorpe of Newsoms and Kyle Lee Thorpe (Mary) of Newsoms; his siblings, Nancy T. Daisey of Nellysford, VA, Mary Ann T. Carman (Charles) of Nellysford, VA and John Blount Thorpe, III of Newsoms; his grandchildren, Ryan, Jessica, Sydney, Sarah, Haleigh, Lee, Karter, Kolton, Paisley and Willow; his great grandchildren, Ethan James Leonard and Eli Thorpe; his friend Cindy Wade; and also Nancy Marchand.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 6 to 8 PM at Wright Funeral Home, Franklin and suggests that memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
