He was predeceased by: his parents, Spracher Ridgway, Sr. and Ella Sue Williams Smith; his close friend Bertha Jane Shelor; and his siblings, Basil McNeil Smith (Booker), Everette M. Smith, Carmon M. Smith, Tommy M. Smith, Gilmore M. Smith, James M. Smith, Raymond A. Smith and Verree Marie Donathan (Rita).

He is survived by: his siblings, Maldeen S. Martin, Polly S. Kanode, Ella M. Collins, Thelma Jean (Garland Bruce) and Bobby; his sister-in-law Martha Smith; and his close friends, Timmy Turman, Travis Turman, Roy Hughes, III, Mike Mullins and Tom Long. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
