He was predeceased by: his parents, Elbert Lee Keffer and Minnie Exie Keffer; his sisters, Janie Smith, Lorene Meadows and Marion Lowe Eppard; his wife Donna Breen Keffer; his son Lawrence; his daughter-in-law Lorrie Keffer of Salem, Virginia; his grandson Blake Keffer (Hope) of Salem, Virginia; his siblings, Lane Keffer of Pearisburg, Virginia and Mary Catherine Williams (Don) of Bluefield, Virginia; and his sister-in-law Janet Breen of Marion, Virginia.
