It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Laymon Miller Williams of Newport, Virginia, who passed away on May 23, 2022, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Elliston Williams and Maggie Collins Williams. He is survived by: his sister Shirley Hazelwood; his wife Lura Jean Dowdy Williams; his children, Becky Shaver of Christiansburg, Ann Rader (Joel) of Newport, Miller Williams (Jane) of Blacksburg and Michael Williams (Melissa) of Pembroke; his grandchildren, Kellie Shaver, Whittney Shaver, Amanda Rader Meister (Ben), Josh Rader (Shelby), James Whitaker, Rachel Whitaker Shrader (Kaleb) and Morgan Williams; his great grandchildren, Megan Shaver, Emmalyn Meister and Cameron Meister; and his granddaughter Madison.
