She was predeceased by: her parents, Ulette Hogan and Nigel Tavares; and her adoptive father Henry Leroy Hogan. She is survived by: her children, Crystal Hill (David) and Joshua Taylor (Caley); her pet Sergeant; her siblings, Latonie DeFrias, Mary Hogan and Leroy Hogan; her godmother Linda Foster; her siblings, Sinclair Smith, Katrina Lumbley and Patryce Copeland; her son Melvin Whitten; her grandchildren, Jah'nique, Jah'nae, Jah'nira, Janelle, Jah'nir, Addyson and Makinsey; her great grandchild Jordan Hogan; her nephew Kwahmae Foster; and her niece Alaysia Glasford. She is also survived by cousins, adopted family members, and friends.
