He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Dicks, Sr. and Margaret Richardson Dicks; his brothers, Walter Jr. and Robert Dicks; and his daughter Leslie Sheleta Dicks.
He is survived by: his wife Patsy Mears; his sons, Adrien and Richard Dicks, Jr.; his sister Leslie Charlton; his daughter Sandra Boyd Gloria; his brother Kermit Swan; and his siblings-in-law, Annette Boone (Earl), Rose Dicks, Ralph Mears (Grenda) and Anthony Sharpe. He is also survived by nine grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and close friends.
