Ralph Ransom Sr. Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ralph Ransom Sr. (Newport News, Virginia), who passed away on December 10, 2024, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Lester E. Ransom Sr. and Malinda Davis Ransom; his siblings, Blannie L. Ransom Underdue, Lester Ransom Jr., Elizabeth K. Alston, Leroy Ransom, Winnie B. Ransom, Ernest L. Ransom, Raymond Ransom, Bertha M. Ransom, Barbara A. Williams, Jeanette Ransom Alston, Dozine M. Moses and Patricia A. Ransom; and his friends, Herman Horn, Dave Grant, Ernest Everette and Charles Kirby.

He is survived by: his brother Collin Ransom (Mary Alice); his children, Shari D. Wallace (Stanley) and Ralph B. Ransom Jr. (Sherrina); his grandchildren, Tiffany M. Riddick (Lamar), Mark A. Nesby (MyKeisha) and Mitchell J. Ransom; and his son Marcell J. Ransom (Sage). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, sister and brother in-laws, cousins and loving friends.

Viewing was held on Wednesday, December 18th 2024 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM and on Thursday, December 19th 2024 at 9:00 AM at the O. H. Smith & Son Funeral Home (3009 Chestnut Ave, Newport News, VA 23607). A celebration of life was held on Thursday, December 19th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
