He was predeceased by: his parents, Mark Thomas Sr. and Mattie B. Thomas; his brother Carl Thomas; his wife Deborah Thomas; and his sister Diane Bitting.
He is survived by: his children, Garnell Thomas of Charlotte, NC and Takisha Vann of Clayton, NC; his grandchildren, Deshawn, Denajiah, Eleighsha, Mikaiah, Nathan Jr., Nay'Ari and Isaiah; and his siblings, Rochella Burford, Earlene Barbour (Willie), Mark Thomas Jr. (Virginia) and Melody Burford (David). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, family, and friends.
The military honors was held on Sunday, December 15th 2024 at the Rising Sun Gardens Cemetery. Viewing was held on Wednesday, December 18th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM and on Friday, December 20th 2024 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM. A funeral service was held on Wednesday, December 18th 2024 at 12:00 PM and on Friday, December 20th 2024 at 1:00 PM.
