He was predeceased by: his parents, George Roland and Matilda Rollins Hopkins; and his siblings, Samuel, Edward, Otis and Eleanor.
He is survived by: his wife Nancy Taylor Hopkins; his children, Paul Hopkins, Jr. (Paula), Susan Henk (Edward) and Alan Hopkins (Melissa); his grandchildren, Christy Phippins, Lindsey Snowden, Mary Stone and Josh Stone; his great grandchildren, Zoë, Skylee, Josie, Trevor, Sydney, Conner and Brody; and his siblings-in-law, Sally Keithley and Edward Taylor. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, January 8th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Menchville Baptist Church (248 Menchville Rd, Newport News, VA 23602). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, January 8th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
