She is survived by: her children, Larry K. Akers, Terry Gene Akers (Chris) and Janet (James Asby); and her grandchildren, Phillip Asby, Kenny Akers (Elizabeth), Natalie Asby and Becky Bean (Nick).

Visitation was held on Thursday, January 9th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the W. J. Smith & Son Funeral Home (210 Harpersville Rd, Newport News, VA 23601). A funeral service was held on Thursday, January 9th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
