She was predeceased by: her parents, Rev. Nathan Rowser and Mary Jane Walker-Rowser; her husband James, Sr.; and her siblings, Henry Rowser, John Rowser, Horace Rowser, Albert Rowser, Rev. Isiah Rowser, Martha Rowser Collins, Ella Rowser Thornton, Leona Rowser Sledge (Newport News) and Joseph Rowser.
She is survived by: her children, James V. Stancil, Jr., Gail Burris (Robert, Jr.) and Karen Stancil Tribbey (Theodore); her sister Elsie Rowser Thomas; her grandchildren, Myrinda Wilson (Dwight, Jr.), Danny Sowell (Mayli), Malik Stancil, Carrington Harrod and Isaiah Tribbey Stancil; and her great grandchildren, Belle Sowell, Dominic Sowell and Rael Sowell. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
