He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Orie Sr. (Pap) and Amanda Orie. He is survived by: his wife Brenda Orie; his sons, Jay Orie and David Orie (Nancy); his grandchildren, Justin Orie (Lily), Phillip Leonard and Victoria Orie; and his uncle Dillon Witherspoon.
