He was predeceased by: his adoptive father Willie J. Gipson. He is survived by: his mother Virginia L. Gipson; his siblings, Jennifer R. Alexander and Wenzale Gipson; and his daughter Laquisa Monay Wright. He is also survived by his grandchildren and many aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, family members and friends.
