She was predeceased by: her parents, Buck Speller and Neva Cooper Speller (Charlie Person); her siblings, Johnnie Speller, Joe Speller, Sonnie Speller, Charles Speller, James "Frank" Speller, Buck Speller, Mary Whitaker, Leon Speller, Roy Speller, Pharoah Daniel Peterson Speller, Ethel Speller, Claudia Moorin, Benjamin Speller, Nathaniel Speller and Lily Speller (Lucille); and her daughter Beverly Jean Person.

She is survived by: her significant other Charlie Person, Jr.; her children, Jacqueline Person-Wilson (Keith), Samuel Person (Adelle) and Stacey D. Person (Karen); her siblings, Milton Speller (Lisa) and Geneva Dancy (Thurman); and her grandchildren, Stacey J. Person, Terrence Howell Jr., Brieahna Henry, Shaquille Person, Dante Person, Keith Wilson, Jr., Chloe Wilson, Qua'Shauna Bazemore-Rodgers and Jaquan Bazemore. She is also survived by 8 great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Viewing was held on Saturday, December 21st 2024 from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM and on Monday, December 23rd 2024 at 11:00 AM at the O. H. Smith & Son Funeral Home (3009 Chestnut Ave, Newport News, VA 23607). A funeral service will be held on Monday, December 23rd 2024 at 1:00 PM at 2114 Wickham Ave, Newport News, VA 23607.
