With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Frances Huggard (Newport News, Virginia), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on February 7, 2025 at the age of 93. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As we bid farewell to this cherished soul, solace is taken in the memories held dear — the laughter shared, the wisdom imparted, the moments of quiet reflection in their presence. Though Frances may no longer walk among us, her spirit lives on in the echoes of her kindness, the warmth of her embrace, and the light of her enduring love.
She was loved and cherished by many people including: her husband James Huggard Jr.; and her children, Renee Lewis and Graylin Huggard.
Viewing was held on Friday, February 14th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the C. C. Carter Funeral Home (3700 Marshall Ave, Newport News, VA 23607). A celebration of life was held on Saturday, February 15th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Emmanuel Baptist Church (521 North Ave, Newport News, VA 23601). A burial was held on Monday, February 17th 2025 at the Oak Lawn Memory Gardens (1921 Shutterlee Mill Rd, Staunton, VA 24401).
