He was predeceased by : his parents, Robert Harris and Audrey Harris; and his siblings, Angela Johnson and Gary Harris. He is survived by : his wife Rosalind Harris; his children, Christopher Harris, Stephen Harris, Bernard Johnson (Shannon), Kirby Johnson, Michael Johnson (De'Johnna), Rosebud Henderson and Winter Curtis; his siblings, Reta Blackwell (Leroy), Larry Harris (Gloria) and Roberta Griffin (Keith); and his pet Stormy. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews.

Viewing was held on Thursday, July 4th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Nickelson-Cummings F. H (4304 Victoria Blvd, Hampton, VA 23669). A funeral service will be held on Friday, July 5th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the First Baptist Church (12720 Patrick Henry Dr, Newport News, VA 23602).

He was honored with the Darcy Royal "Chippy" Harris Drug-Free Scholarship Foundation Award in 2006, embodying his dedication to supporting his community.
