Though Barbara may no longer walk beside us, her legacy lives on — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of time and space.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Glaucus W. Lewis and Lillie Mae Dail; her husbands, Johannes Van of Klashorst and James Franklin Bailey; and her children, Glaucus Jerome Vest, Barbara Dale Alcott (Wayne Alcott) and Robert Lee Bailey.
She is survived by: her children, Carol Ann Futrell (Wayne Futrell), James Keith Bailey, Steven Wayne Bailey and Kimberly Bailey-Elfersy (Haim Elfersy); and her sister Theresa Stanfield. She is also survived by many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 28th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the W. J. Smith & Son Funeral Home (210 Harpersville Rd, Newport News, VA 23601). A graveside service will be held on Friday, February 28th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Peninsula Memorial Park (12750 Warwick Blvd, Newport News, VA 23606).
