It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Scott Fitzgerald Carter Jr. of Newbern, Virginia, who passed away on March 16, 2025, at the age of 29, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his brother Mathew Thomas Murphy; his grandparents, Virgil and Sandra Kay Murphy; and his uncle Edward Rowe. He is survived by: his parents, Terri Lynn Carter of Newbern and Scott F. Carter, Sr. (Tyra Redd) of Pulaski; his siblings, Leaniah of Chirstiansburg, Kesheanna, Denzel and Mourning Carter of Pulaski; and his friend Nicco. He is also survived by nephew and niece, aunts, uncles and cousins.

A memorial fund has been established at the National Bank of Blacksburg for anyone who would like to donate.
