He was predeceased by: his parents, Gayle Gilmore Mason and Doris Mae Jones Mason; and his siblings, Wendy Mumaw, Barbara Custer and Jerry Lee Mason.
He is survived by: his wife Louise D. Hamilton Proctor Mason; his daughters, Alicia Ann Knapp (Scott) of Fort Valley and Dawn Marie Mason of Waynesboro; his stepdaughters, Jill Irby (Joe) of Mt. Jackson and Rose Aquaro (Tommy) of Bumpass, VA; his brother Keith Mason (Brenda) of Mt. Jackson; and his grandson Dustin Mason. He is also survived by great grandchildren.
