It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Rachel Mae Whetzel of New Market, Virginia, who passed away on October 26, 2021, at the age of 77, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Lewis Stroop and Gertrude Fulk Stroop; and her husband Don Whetzel, Sr.. She is survived by: her children, Anita Housden (Jerry) of Timberville and Don E. Whetzel, Jr. of Harrisonburg; her grandchildren, Tim Housden (Jessica) of Timberville and Jenny Housden of Timberville; her great grandchildren, Harper Housden, Oliver and Spencer Housden; and her sisters, Shirley Keister of Manassas, Donna Cubbage of Lacey Spring and Ruby Patterson of Harrisonburg.
