He was predeceased by: his parents, James Tanner and Margaret Chappell Tanner; and his former wife Helen Lorraine Tanner. He is survived by: his wife Oleah Tanner; and his sons, James Tanner and Steve Tanner (Brenda). He is also survived by 8 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren and 1 great, great grandchild.
